In 2013, the Bankstown Line was cut at Lidcombe, removing the City to Bankstown via Regents Park service.
The Sydney Metro City & Southwest will convert the 11 stations on the Bankstown Line from Bankstown to Sydenham to new Metro rail. This is scheduled to take place starting with line shutdowns from late 2018/early 2019 onwards.
Stations west of Bankstown will lose all direct services to the City once construction of Sydney Metro begins on the Bankstown Line. Interchanges at Lidcombe, Bankstown or Cabramatta will be required in order to travel to the City.
Transport for NSW documents from 2012 (Sydney’s Rail Future) and 2017 (Sydney Metro Bankstown to Sydenham Feb 2017 Update) include maps showing the T3 Bankstown Line ending at Cabramatta once the new Metro is open.
