The Restore Inner West Line and Save T3 Bankstown Line community action group welcomes the announcement of the Parliamentary Inquiry into the Metro Southwest.

The Inquiry is opportunity for the 19,000 forgotten commuters west of Bankstown to be heard, as the impact of Metro on west of Bankstown include 9 stations losing all trains to City Circle forcing commuters to interchange twice.

The government must be held to account for cutting the Bankstown Line at Lidcombe and Inner West Line in Homebush in 2013 as part of original plans for Sydney Metro.

Shutting down the Bankstown Line and charging the community hundreds of dollars to obtain the Temporary Transport Plan is the great train robbery.

The NSW Upper House Portfolio Committee No. 6 – Transport and Customer Service’s “Sydenham-Bankstown Line conversion” Inquiry is calling for submissions until Friday 4 October 2019.

The Inquiry will hold hearings in November and a final report is expected by the end of March 2020.
