The Restore Inner West Line community action group is delighted at the NSW Government announcement to bring back direct train services from on the former T2 Inner West Line (City Circle to Liverpool via Regents Park) in the new Sydney Trains timetable (to be introduced from mid-late 2024). 

We continue to ask Transport for NSW to provide a commitment to running the T2 Liverpool via Regents Park services beyond 2030, and also to restore direct trains from Bankstown to City via Regents Park as well as maintaining direct trains between Liverpool and Bankstown via Sefton. 

Adequate capacity exists on the Sydney Trains Network for passenger services on all 3 sides of Sefton Junction to/from Liverpool, Bankstown, City Circle via Inner West with: Liverpool to City via Regents Park (4 trains per hour), Bankstown to City via Regents Park (2 – 4 trains per hour), and Liverpool to Bankstown (2 – 6 trains per hour).
