Note:
Labor leader Michael Daley and The Greens’ transport spokeswoman Cate Faehrmann have both written to us confirming their respective parties’ continued support for restoring the Inner West Line to Liverpool/Bankstown via Regents Park.
A senior official within the Transport department has written to us advising that the Liberal government’s previous correspondence about holding no policy to restore the Inner West Line remains current.
The Liberal Party have committed to the Sydenham-Bankstown Metro (removal of direct trains to City for 9 stations west of Bankstown). The Labor Party (and the Greens) have committed to cancelling this project.
The Labor Party has committed to a review of the Sydney Trains timetable introduced in 2017.
The Christian Democratic Party has previously supported Restore Inner West Line, with Reverend Fred Nile raising concerns about the train services with Gladys Berejiklian in 2015.
The Animal Justice Party and Keep Sydney Open are yet to finalise their position on Restore Inner West Line but some candidates have indicated their support to Save T3 Bankstown Line (oppose the Sydenham-Bankstown Metro Southwest).
The Australian Conservatives have yet to provide a response to our questions about transport.
One Nation’s NSW leader Mark Latham has confirmed that Metro Southwest will not be a part of his public transport policy and that such project is a waste of money.
