Transport for NSW (TfNSW) has launched an online survey for the Planning for rail services west of Bankstown Station in 2024 including restoring the Inner West Line to Liverpool via Regents Park

Stations west of Bankstown include: Lidcombe, Berala, Regents Park, Sefton, Chester Hill, Leightonfield, Villawood, Carramar, Cabramatta, Warwick Farm, Liverpool, Birrong, Yagoona

The survey will be available until 5pm Monday 27 July

We welcome the NSW Government’s preferred option (2) which includes the “City to Liverpool via Regents Park” (former Inner West Line) train service

We will continue to advocate for all stations on the current T3 Bankstown Line to have a direct train to the City Circle and believe the restoration of the Inner West Line (City to Liverpool via Regents Park and City to Bankstown via Regents Park) should be implemented now

Restore Inner West Line
City to Liverpool via Regents Park and City to Bankstown via Regents Park

We are not giving up on Birrong and Yagoona, hence the arrow in the map at Lidcombe represents the Bankstown to City via Regents Park train service

Implementing what Transport for NSW deems as “Option 2” is the first step towards having direct train services for all stations west of Bankstown

Read our Submission – Why Option 2 and 3 should be Implemented Together

Planning for Rail Services West of Bankstown station in 2024

Transport for NSW’s preferred option for west of Bankstown: restoration of (former) Inner West Line’s City to Liverpool via Regents Park service, a shuttle service from Bankstown to Lidcombe, and the removal of direct services between Liverpool and Bankstown

Changes to bus services west of Bankstown will also be made

It is important to note that changing the “Liverpool via Regents Park” trains’ name from “Inner West Line” to “T3 Bankstown Line” doesn’t change the fact that this NSW Government cut the service in 2013

Saving stations west of Bankstown from closure with the restoration of the (former) Inner West Line to Liverpool via Regents Park is important for our community but the fight continues for Birrong and Yagoona’s direct trains to City Circle, and to save the direct train from Liverpool to Bankstown
